The Lionesses faced Australia in a World Cup 2023 warm up fixture. Ella Toone made a starting appearance as England lost 2-0 at Brentford’s Community Stadium, which ended their incredible 30 game unbeaten run.

Hannah Cain collected another international cap for Wales in a friendly match against Portugal. Her side played out a 1-1 draw in Guimaraes.

Wednesday

Gateshead continued their remarkable season turnaround at Eastleigh. Ed Francis made a substitute appearance in the 5-2 win.

Friday

The New Saints earned another 3 points on the road in a dress rehearsal for the Welsh Cup Final. A massive congratulations to Declan McManus who scored his 30th goal of the season in the 2-0 win at Bala Town.

Saturday

Australian international Harry Souttar made an immediate return to Leicester’s starting line up following the appointment of their new manager. A spirited second half performance wasn’t quiet enough to prevent a 3-1 loss at Manchester City in the FA Premier League.

Manchester United booked their place at Wembley Stadium for next month’s Women’s FA Cup Final. Ella Toone’s side saw off Brighton in the semi-final thanks to a 3-2 win in a hugely entertaining tie.

The weekend’s action began at Easter Road with an early kick off. Hearts faced Hibs in the Edinburgh derby. Barrie McKay returned to the starting line up and completed the 90 minutes but his side lost narrowly 1-0 in the SPL.

Also tasting defeat were three of our EFL Championship players. Callum Lang, Tyrese Campbell and Jamie Lindsay will be looking to bounce back quickly with midweek games in a couple of days.

There was better news in League One where Liam Kitching’s Barnsley smashed Forest Green 5-1 away from home. Also winning on their travels were Bolton who won 1-0 at Oxford United, with Aaron Morley and Gethin Jones featuring.

Collecting a good away point was David Norman Jr. His Northampton Town side drew 0-0 at fellow League Two promotion hopefuls Carlisle United.

Reduced to 10 men for a large chunk of the second half, Wrexham earned themselves another point following their goalless draw at Barnet. Elliot Lee’s team stay in control at the top of the National League.

Defensive pair Jamie Stott and Tylor Golden kept the door shut for Halifax, enabling them to secure a 3-0 home victory over Maidstone.

Dan Pike supplied the key assist for AFC Fylde as they beat Boston 1-0 in the National League North.

Jack Evans and Aaron Holloway were rewarded for their trip to Peterborough Sports with Hereford winning 2-0. #FullNinetyFamily
