Monday

Wrexham’s FA Cup campaign came to a halt at Ewood Park. Elliot Lee’s men took an early lead against Blackburn Rovers, but eventually succumbed to a 4-1 defeat.

Tuesday

Coventry City battled to a 2-2 draw against Bristol City in the EFL Championship. Liam Kitching continues to impress in the heart of defence for ‘The Sky Blues’.

Callum Lang scored on his debut for new club Portsmouth after stepping off the substitute’s bench. Pompey drew 2-2 away at Oxford United, and still occupy top spot in League One. 

Bolton Wanderers played out a goalless draw with Blackpoolin the EFL Trophy. Aaron Morley made no mistake from the spot in the shootout but his side lost narrowly 5-4.

Friday

Australia’s Asian Cup campaign came to an end in Qatar after slipping to a 2-1 extra time defeat against South Korea. The FullNinety contingent of Harry Souttar, Martin Boyle and Gethin Jones all featured heavily for the Socceroos during the tournament, and can be hugely proud of their contribution.

Saturday 

It was an afternoon to forget for our EFL Championship players. Tyrese Campbell’s Stoke City suffered a heavy defeat, while Liam Kitching saw red for Coventry City. Jamie Lindsay also tasted defeat for Rotherham United.

Callum Lang was the toast of Portsmouth following their 4-1 demolition of Northampton Town. He scored one and assisted another on his home debut at Fratton Park.

Barnsley new boy Josh Earl made a a seamless transition to life across the Pennines. His side collected a deserved point at Aaron Morley’s Bolton Wanderers (1-1).

Tom Barkhuizen’s Derby battled to another crucial victory in League One. They won 1-0 at Charlton Athletic and move up to second place in League One.

Wrexham lost 3-1 away at Salford City. Luke Bolton made his debut for the Welsh giants as a second half substitute, while Elliot Lee completed 90 minutes of action.

Ed Francis made a timely return to the Gateshead starting XI after recovering from a serious head injury. His team made the long trip to Southend United and returned to the North East with a 1-0 win.

Sunday

Ella Toone celebrated receiving her 150th Manchester United appearance award with a comprehensive 2-0 victory against Brighton in the WSL.

Rehanne Skinner’s West Ham recorded a terrific 2-1 win over high flying Arsenal, with Kirsty Smith featuring for ‘The Hammers’. 

Lioness Bethany England captained Tottenham Hotspur to a 1-1 draw at Liverpool. Kit Graham also got a run out for Spurs, while Lucy Parry made a late substitute appearance for ‘The Reds’. #FullNinetyFamily
