Our Lionesses Bethany England and Ella Toone were involved on the international stage as England took on France in Paris. Beth made a 74th minute substitute appearance in the friendly fixture, but Tooney as unused as England slipped to a 3-1 defeat.

Having returned from injury Jamie Lindsay led the fight for Championship survival as his Rotherham United side earned a point during their hard fought goalless draw with Yorkshire rivals Huddersfield Town. 

Oxford United put Crewe Alexandra to the sword in League One. Loan star Elliot Lee featured for ‘The U’s’ during their convincing 6-0 victory.

A late winner sent Bolton Wanderers back into the League Two automatic promotion places. Gethin Jones’ men beat Harrogate 2-1 with Ed Francis making a 67th minute substitute appearance for Town.

Declan McManus’ brilliant glancing header gave Dunfermline an early lead against Ayr United in their Scottish Championship league match. ‘The Parrs’ had to settle for a point after the 1-1 draw.

Eastleigh secured a point with their 0-0 draw at home to Woking in the National League. Ryan Hill’s men sit just threepoints outside the play-off places. 

Sunday

Lizzie Arnot scored Rangers’ third goal in the 5-0 demolition of Spartans in the Scottish Women’s Premier League. The win keeps ‘Gers’ top of the table on goal difference with Glasgow City second.
