Tuesday

Bolton Wanderers began their defence of the Papa John’s Trophy with a convincing 3-0 home win against Salford. Aaron Morley got on the scoresheet for the hosts, while Gethin Jones was rested. Luke Bolton made a starting appearance for City in their much changed line-up.

Ryan McLean was part of the AFC Wimbledon side that secured a 1-1 draw with Stevenage. The Dons grabbed a bonus point by winning 6-5 on spot-kicks.

Friday

The New Saints made the trip north of the border to face Hibernian B in the SPFL Trust Trophy. Ben Clark was on the scoresheet again in the 3-0 win. Dan Williams and Jake Canavan made up the FullNinety trio, while Declan McManus sat out the tie with injury.

Saturday

Toby Mullarkey featured for Grimsby Town in the early kick-off which was broadcast live on Sky Sports. The big defender supplied a first half assist in the 1-1 draw at Bradford City.

Halifax Town also had an early start at The Shay Stadium. Jamie Stott notched a crucial assist in the 1-1 draw with Southend United. Tylor Golden and Jack Evans also made important contributions.

Elliot Lee came up trumps yet again for Wrexham in League Two. His late goal guaranteed all 3 points in the 2-1 victory against Doncaster Rovers.

Ronan Darcy’s Crawley Town earned a convincing 4-1 home victory against Newport County.

Luke Bolton suffered disappointment at the Peninsula Stadium, where Salford City let an early lead slip. They lost 2-1 against Walsall.

Gateshead made the mammoth 600 mile round trip to Eastleigh in the National League. Ed Francis excelled again in the memorable 6-0 thrashing on the south coast.

Dan Pike travelled to Colchester United with Tranmere Rovers, but came away from Essex pointless. The home side winning the game 2-0.

Sunday

Harry Souttar and Martin Boyle journeyed over the Atlantic Ocean to meet up with the Australian squad in Arlington, Texas. Harry scored with a trademark header and Martin marked his return from injury with a goal and ‘Man of the Match’ performance in the 2-2 international friendly match against Mexico.

Ishé Samuels-Smith returned to the UK after representing the England Under 18 side in France. ‘The Young Lions’ competed in the Limoges International Tournament against France, Japan and Portugal. Ishé made two accomplished starting appearances, although England lost all 3 games. #FullNinetyFamily
