Rotherham United progress into the Papa John’s Trophy Semi-Final after beating Cambridge United. Midfield dynamo Jamie Lindsay was influential throughout the 90 minutes (final score 1-1) and converted a crucial spot kick in the penalty shoot-out.

AFC Fylde we’re pegged back to a 2-2 draw with local rivals Chorley at Victory Park. Dan Pike continues to impress for The Coasters following his loan move from Blackburn Rovers.

Hearts winger Barrie McKay’s clever assist hauled his side back into their SPL clash with Celtic. Despite their best efforts, the Glasgow giants held on for a 2-1 win.

Lioness Bethany England celebrated her 50th WSL goal to open the scoring for Chelsea. The Blues beat West Ham 2-0 and move up to second place, just a single point behind leaders Arsenal.

Thursday

Star winger Martin Boyle was back in international action for Australia in World Cup qualifying. The Socceroos beat Vietnam 4-0 which boosts their bid to reach Qatar 2022.

Friday

Stoke City returned from Huddersfield Town with a deserved  point following a 1-1 draw. Tyrese Campbell completed the 90 minutes and had claims for a stonewall penalty waved away.

Declan McManus scored the opening goal for The New Saints with a brilliant overhead kick. They recorded an emphatic 4-0 win at Caernarfon Town in the Welsh Premier League.

Saturday

Barrie McKay’s Hearts further cemented their 3rd place position in the SPL, thanks to a 2-0 victory over Motherwell.

It was a memorable day for Bolton Wanderers stars Gethin Jones and Aaron Morley. They demolished North East giants Sunderland 6-0 to claim a third successive win in League One.

Elsewhere in the third tier; Jamie Lindsay’s Rotherham earned a 2-0 victory at Crewe, which sends them back to the top of the table. Wigan Athletic drew 0-0 at Cheltenham Town with Callum Lang returning after his injury niggle.

Man of the moment Mace Goodridge scored his 4th goal in 3 games for AFC Telford United as they beat Bradford (Park Avenue) 3-0.

Also in the National League North; Ryan McLean supplied an assist for Hereford but they narrowly lost 3-2 at Chorley.

Sunday

It was FA Women’s FA Cup Fourth Round day with Lioness Ella Toone scoring for Manchester United in their 2-0 win at Bridgwater United.

Reading progress thanks to a 3-2 win at Brighton & Hove Albion with Faye Bryson featuring.

Liverpool cruised into the next round after a 6-0 victory over Lincoln City, with Taylor Hinds starring for them. Leicester City came back from a goal down to earn a 3-1 extra-time win at Tottenham Hotspur. Captain Abbie McManus supplied the vital assist for The Foxes. #FullNinetyFamily
