Tuesday

Joe Piggott led the forward line for Altrincham during their National League game against King’s Lynn Town. The Moss Lane outfit came away with a convincing 3-0 victory.

In the Scottish Cup; Dunfermline and Declan McManus narrowly lost out in a penalty shoot-out against Greenock Morton. The tight second round tie finished goalless after extra-time with ‘The Parrs’ losing 6-5 in sudden death.

Saturday

Gillingham came from behind to earn a draw at table toppers Hull City in League One. Olly Lee struck a 67th minute equaliser which keeps his side in the hunt for a play-off place. Callum Lang’s Wigan Athletic took a point away from their match with Ipswich Town following a goalless draw.

It was lucky 13 games unbeaten for Gethin Jones and Bolton Wanderers after their 1-0 win against Forest Green Rovers. A smart first half finish was enough to seal victory and now only goal difference separates ‘The Trotters’ from an automatic promotion place.

In the Women’s Super League; Manchester United completed a 2-0 win over West Ham United with Ella Toone completing 90 minutes and Martha Harris making a substitute appearance.

Sunday

Georgia Brougham and Faye Bryson shared the spoils in the WSL after Birmingham City drew 1-1 with Bristol City.

Both Kirstie Levell and Hannah Cain featured as Leicester City made it 11 straight wins in the Championship to break the previous league record. #FullNinetyFamily
