Ella Toone carried her fine Manchester United form onto the international stage when she made her debut for England in a friendly against Northern Ireland at St George’s Park. Entering the action as a half time substitute Ella calmly dispatched a 75th minute penalty to cap her special day. Manchester City goalkeeper Ellie Roebuck kept a clean sheet in the 6-0 victory and there was a late run out for Chelsea striker Bethany England.

Martin Boyle was named in the SPFL ‘Team of the Week’ (w/e 21st Feb) after his match winning display for Hibernian. Our Socceroo scored with a smart finish and provided an assist during their 2-0 SPL victory over Hamilton Academical at Easter Road.

Callum Lang found the net with his 5th goal since returning to Wigan Athletic following his loan spell at Motherwell. He scored the opening goal as ‘The Latics’ beat Bristol Rovers 2-1 in League One.

Bolton Wanderers and Gethin Jones extended their winning run to 4 games with a comprehensive 2-0 home win against Scunthorpe United

Meanwhile Ed Francis continues to impress for Harrogate Town. His side edged out Mansfield Town 1-0 in their League Two fixture at Wetherby Road.

SC East Bengal kicked off the weekend’s action with their 11 goal thriller in the Indian Super League. Our Welsh striker Aaron Amadi-Holloway bagged a brace, but his side were narrowly beaten 6-5 by Odisha.

Elliot Lee was the toast of Oxford following his 97th equaliser for United during their 1-1 draw at MK Dons. The Luton Town loanee struck in the 97th minute to earn his side a point in League One.

Gethin Jones gave another excellent performance for Bolton Wanderers as his side continued their march up the League Two table. Their 1-0 win over Barrow was their fifth in a row and sends ‘The Trotters’ into the play-off places.

Sunday

It was another successful afternoon’s work for Lionesses goalkeeper Ellie Roebuck. Claiming back to back clean sheets for her Manchester City side as they beat Birmingham City 4-0 in the FA Women’s Super League. The Cityzens are now only 2 points behind leaders Chelsea.

One positive for Aston Villa to take from their defeat against Arsenal was the return of Scottish international Chloe Arthur from injury.

Hannah Cain’s first half strike on her home debut was enough for Leicester City to take all 3 points in their 1-0 victory over Crystal Palace and remain top of the FA Women’s Championship.
