Gethin Jones has been rewarded with a brand new two-year deal after helping Bolton Wanderers win promotion back to Sky Bet League One.

The defender originally signed for the club on a one-year contract with an option for an additional 12 months back in August; however, after playing such a key role for Wanderers last season the Welshman was delighted to commit his future with the Whites.

“I am absolutely delighted to get the deal sorted,”

The former Everton, Fleetwood Town and Carlisle United full-back featured in 38 Sky Bet League Two games for Wanderers last term and found the back of the net on three occasions as the Whites secured automatic promotion on the final day of the Season with an emphatic 4-1 victory against Crawley Town.

Wanderers manager Ian Evatt added: “Earlier on in the Season, especially when things weren’t quite going so well, Gethin was super consistent; probably our most consistent player”.

Congratulations Gethin from all the #FullNinetyFamily
